Lidia G. Zatopek
Director, Alternative Certification Division
Lidia Zatopek has a bachelor’s degree in Russian studies and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from University of Houston. She is a certified teacher and principal, with 25 years experience in education, 18 of those years in leadership development within school districts.
Jonett Edwards Miniel
Grants Development Manager, Alternative Certification Division
Jonett Edwards Miniel holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. She came into teaching as a second career, and has 10 years of classroom experience, and ten years experience writing and managing grants to support alternative certification programs. She has successfully written/managed eleven multi-year grants. Jonett assists in recruiting and intern placement, as well as developing and facilitating the professional development components of the division’s grants.
Secretary, Alternative Certification Division
Amy Thompson has worked in alternative certification for the past 14 years, the last three with HCDE’s Alternative Certification Division. She serves as the initial point of contact for the program, and assists in recruiting and intern support.
