HCDE's highly qualified teachers provide workforce development, High-School Equivalency exam preparation (GED) classes and English as a second language (ESL) classes in many locations across Houston/Harris and Liberty County. Flexible schedules that include morning, afternoon and evening courses make going back to school convenient. HCDE Adult Education offers working adults the opportunity to gain the skills needed to take advantage of better job opportunities or move into higher education.

About the Adult Education Program:
We offer free classes in convenient locations and flexible schedules (morning, afternoon and evening) taught by highly qualified teachers. An adult-centered curriculum based on the Texas Adult Education Content Standards centered on individualized placement and progress evaluations.
Free textbooks for classroom use and access to computer aided instruction and distance education in some areas.
We Also Offer:
- GED scholarships, GED graduation and Adult National Honor Society
- Individualized career, vocational, and college counseling
