Member Benefits

Districts can become a member of the Center for Safe and Secure Schools by paying a nominal fee based on enrollment. The following privileges are available to:

  •   Access to quarterly Members Operations Board networking meetings;
  •   Registration waiver for two-member district staff to any training involving emergency operations planning;
  •   Quarterly webinars focusing on school safety and security best practices;
  •   Discounted security audit assessment, digital site mapping, emergency operations planning and e-learning web-based solutions to assist districts with EOP (Texas 1 Plan); and table-top exercises for school districts. 
  •   Representation for Harris County Schools
  •   At Houston TranStar during a major emergency that require activation of this facility
  •   Houston Community Preparedness Collaborative Committee (HCPC)
  •   Regional Planning Committee for Emergency Operations Planning for Harris County
  •   Maintenance of Mutual Aid agreements
  •   Representation at TranStar during a major emergency that requires activation of this facility
  •   Representation as a member of the Houston Community Preparedness Collaborative Committee (HCPC)
  •   Representative on the Harris County Mitigation Plan Steering Committee
  •   Education representative on the Houston Urban Working Group Committee
  •   Monthly 2-way radio checks
  •   Registration fee waiver for one district representative to attend any threat assessment training offered by the Center for Safe and Secure Schools
  •   Access to free quarterly safety and security webinars,
  •   Access and participation in two safety and security table top exercises
