We provide customized training and conferences at HCDE or at your location for teachers, administrators and support staff through the Teaching and Learning Center.

Nicole Shanahan is the curriculum director for mathematics at the Teaching and Learning Center at HCDE. Shanahan is responsible for creating customized workshops that focus on building conceptual understanding and making content accessible to all learners. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Christian University and a master’s degree in mathematics education from University of Houston. Before joining HCDE, Shanahan was a mathematics teacher in Houston ISD, where she was named “Secondary Teacher of the Year” and served as vice president of Texas Association of Supervisors for Mathematics.
